FBI - More than Fun & Games with Guns

New Study Shows Gangs Are Infiltrating U.S. Military.

The FBI does more than promote guns to kids, concoct "terror" plots, lock up little old (Muslim) ladies and harass peace activists. They put out solid research on blue collar crime in the U.S.[1] White collar crime? They don't care so much about that.

The latest report, the 2011 National Gang Threat Assessment, is chock full of useful information. For example, did you know that Minnesota has gangs named "Rough Tough Somalis" and "Royal Cambodian Bloods"? The ethnic angle is big in this report.

There is also a section on Gangs and the Military:
Gang recruitment of active duty military personnel constitutes a significant criminal threat to the US military. Members of nearly every major street gang, as well as some prison gangs and OMGs [Outlaw Motorcycle Groups], have been reported on both domestic and international military installations, according to NGIC analysis and multiple law enforcement reporting. Through transfers and deployments, military-affiliated gang members expand their culture and operations to new regions nationwide and worldwide, undermining security and law enforcement efforts to combat crime. Gang members with military training pose a unique threat to law enforcement personnel because of their distinctive weapons and combat training skills and their ability to transfer these skills to fellow gang members.
I can't resist turning that around a little bit:
U.S. military recruitment of American teenagers constitutes a significant threat to Muslims all over the world. Members of nearly every military service, as well as Special Operations and JSOC units, have been reported to have killed innocent civilians in both Iraq and Afghanistan, according to actual journalism analysis and multiple non-U.S. news organizations. Through military trainers and troop surges, the U.S. military expands their culture and operations to new regions worldwide, undermining security and promoting local corruption. Americans with military training pose a unique threat to Muslims because of their distinctive weapons and combat training skills and their ability to use these skills on foreign populations.
Boy, that was easy. More fun and games with the FBI in an upcoming post.

[1] This following point is serious. I just saw that the FBI is updating their definition of rape from the 1927 (no, not a typo) version it currently uses: "Forcible rape is the carnal knowledge of a female forcibly and against her will."

The new version is: "Penetration, no matter how slight, of the vagina or anus with any body part or object, or oral penetration by a sex organ of another person, without the consent of the victim." That's an important change. Welcome to the 21st 20th Century, FBI.
